Born from courage, built with bare hands, and driven by a purpose far bigger than profit. This is how MCLAU Solutions came to be.
It started not in a factory, not in a boardroom — but in a small home in South Africa, with a young woman who refused to believe that her circumstances defined her ceiling.
The year was 2019. Ndivhuwo Nemukombame — a young, determined South African woman — sat at her kitchen table with nothing but a notebook, a pen, and an unshakeable conviction that she could build something real. Something that mattered.
She had watched her communi ty struggle. Cleaning products were expensive. Quality was inconsistent. And the people who manufactured them looked nothing like her — nothing like the communities that needed them most.
That evening, she wrote two words at the top of her page: MCLAU Solutions.
Ndivhuwo spent months studying chemical formulations. She pored over industry texts late into the night, tested, failed, adjusted, and tested again — not in a professional lab, but wherever she could find the space and the tools.
There were mornings when nothing worked. Batches that didn't meet the standard she had set for herself. But she kept one rule above her workspace:
"If it's not good enough for my family, it's not good enough for anyone's."
— Ndivhuwo Nemukombame, Founder
That standard became the heartbeat of MCLAU Solutions. Her products were submitted to the Tshwane University of Technology and the Technology Innovation Agency — aligned with SARS Quality Standards. They passed. Because she had already held them to a higher standard.
In a male-dominated industry, Ndivhuwo didn't just build a company — she built proof that this space belongs to all of us.
Founded and led by a young South African who proved that age is no barrier to impact.
A woman-led enterprise built from the ground up — defying convention at every step.
B-BBEE Level 1 EME, contributing daily to a more equitable South African economy.
When Ndivhuwo registered MCLAU Solutions, she understood she was doing something rare. In South Africa's chemical manufacturing sector, faces like hers were seldom seen at the helm.
She didn't just want a successful business — she wanted to show every young Black woman watching that this space belongs to them too. That chemistry, manufacturing, and industry are not someone else's territories.
Every bottle that ships. Every client that calls back. It's all proof of that.
Registered on paper, but already alive in spirit. Ndivhuwo begins formulating her first range of detergents, testing every single batch herself before one bottle is sold.
Products submitted to Tshwane University of Technology and the Technology Innovation Agency. Results confirm what Ndivhuwo already knew — these products meet SARS Quality Standards.
Word spreads. Retailers and direct customers discover MCLAU's products — quality they can see, at a price that makes sense. Deliveries go out personally and through courier partners across South Africa.
MCLAU grows beyond detergents — chemical formulation, professional cleaning, consumable supplies, nationwide distribution. From 5-litre to 1000-litre bulk IBC orders. The business scales to serve every client.
MCLAU Solutions stands today as proof that purpose-driven business works. Every product is still held to the same standard set at that kitchen table in 2019. The dream is bigger. The team is stronger. The heart hasn't changed.
To everyone who has supported MCLAU Solutions,
When I started this company, I had more doubt than certainty. More questions than answers. The cleaning chemicals industry is competitive, technical, and not always welcoming of new faces — especially young Black women with no formal manufacturing background.
But I had something no amount of capital or experience could buy: I cared deeply about what I was making, and why I was making it.
I cared because I grew up in communities where access to quality products at fair prices wasn't guaranteed. I cared because I had watched women work twice as hard for half the recognition. I cared because I believed — and still believe — that South Africa's economic future belongs to all of us.
MCLAU Solutions is my answer to that belief. Every bottle, every delivery, every satisfied client call is confirmation that we belong here. That we are good enough. That we always were.
To our early clients who trusted us before we were fully built: thank you. To those discovering us now: welcome. You are part of this story too.
We are not just selling products. We are proving something.
Seeing every client and team member as a person, not a transaction.
Continuously improving our formulations and service offerings.
Honest about what we can do. Always delivering what we promise.
Zero harm to people, environment, and the communities we serve.
We own our outcomes — good and bad — and grow from both.
Every client who chooses MCLAU Solutions becomes part of something bigger — a story about courage, quality, and community. We'd love to have you in it.
